Preethi Srinivasan is a national-level swimmer, a state-level cricketer, and an excellent student. She was previously the captain of the Tamil Nadu Women’s Under-10 cricket team. In 1997, she led the state team to the National Championships at the age of 17. Preethi was a champion swimmer in addition to her contributions to Indian women’s cricket. She won a state gold medal in the 50-meter breaststroke and silver medals in several other events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preethi Srinivasan was born on September 5, 1979, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, to a well-educated Tamil family. She will be 41 years old in 2022. Mr. N. Srinivasan was her father, and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan was her mother. Everything was going well in her life until she was 18, when she suffered a spinal cord injury that left her paralysed below the neck. Despite losing her sense of identity in an instant, Preethi rose like a phoenix and completed her Ph.D. at IIT-Madras, as well as founded “Soulfree” (www.soulfree.org), a public charitable trust dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with Spinal Cord Injury in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
